Thin Edge

Thin edge; the difference between life and death. The thin edge is the occasion when you have to decide between returning to the marital home or remaining for the 'next wicket'. The thin edge is also known as the dash from your seat and to the Gents and back before a ball is bowled between overs; also known as the splash and dash.

Ultimately the thin edge is when, on the journey home the long arm of the law decides that the great and good of cricket supporters are requested to provide a sample of their breath (in my opinion simply to sell them on eBay) and we find that the sample is within 2mg of the so called legal limit! Surely butlers are allowed a drink too?
